Woodland – a contemplative site Exposed to a flood of sensory impressions and an ever faster pace, more and more of us are finding it hard to switch off and relax, but at the same time, there is an ever growing need to slow down and recover. The more we yield to the burden of multitasking and succumb to the stress of hobbies and rushing around, the more we need an alternative and counterweight to the challenge of modern times. As life becomes more hectic and demanding, we often long only to let go, empty our minds and let ourselves drift. Too many appointments, rivalry at work and strife in the family – far too often we are caught in the treadmill of must and should.
